A coordinated raid by Joint Security forces in Maryland County’s Electoral District 2 has resulted in the confiscation of various illegal substances from a group of disadvantaged youth in Pleebo City.
The operation, conducted on Monday, August 12, 2024, involved an extensive security search that culminated in the raiding and burning of areas occupied by the youth, commonly referred to as Green Forest.
The initiative was led by District #2 Commander of the Liberia National Police, Jmax Roberts.
During the raid, authorities seized 23 pieces of Kush, 11 pieces of Italian white, and 5 pieces of waste slide, along with other unidentified substances. The confiscated items have been handed over to the Maryland chapter of the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency in Harper for further processing.
The operation also resulted in the arrest of 11 individuals, including 7 boys and 4 girls. The detainees are currently being held at the Pleebo Police Depot, where they are awaiting further investigations.
This decisive action by the Joint Security underscores their commitment to curbing the spread of illegal drugs and ensuring public safety in Maryland County.
