The Ministry of Education in Liberia has officially introduced a groundbreaking National Youth Service Program, aimed at actively involving the nation’s youth in meaningful service across various sectors.
The initiative was launched today in a prestigious ceremony at the Ministerial Complex in Congo Town, with the goal of empowering young Liberians, promoting civic engagement, and driving national progress.
During the event, Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah, Minister of Education, highlighted the vital contribution that young people can make toward the future of Liberia.
Dr. Jallah described the program as a strategic initiative to channel the energy and talents of Liberia’s youth into community development, educational assistance, and public service projects.
In his address, Dr. Jallah also expressed gratitude to UNICEF and other partner organizations for their steadfast support in advancing the Ministry’s mission.
Beyond hands-on work experience, the National Youth Service Program will offer participants training in leadership, entrepreneurship, and civic education, equipping them with the skills needed to make a lasting impact in their communities and the nation.
The program is set to kick off later this year, with the first group of participants scheduled to begin their service in the coming months.
The Ministry has outlined a comprehensive implementation plan for the program, including continuous monitoring and assessment to ensure its success.
This initiative is a key component of the government’s broader agenda to amplify the role of youth in national development, creating opportunities for young Liberians to contribute to the growth and stability of their communities.
